Well, well, well, what do we have here

2026 - Week 25

In a rare and slightly alarming development, the Work In ProgMess team has been spotted outside their natural habitat.

Yes, we know. We are as surprised as you are.

Normally, we can be found safely tucked behind laptops, making questionable metaphors, overthinking app onboarding, and saying things like, “But what if personal growth had departments?” with completely straight faces.

But this week, Nick and Marnie are heading onto a local TV program to talk about The Business of You and Blue.

Which means we will be doing something brave, unusual, and deeply unnatural for people who spend most of their time writing about leadership and career readiness: We will be speaking in complete sentences while cameras are pointed at us.

Please respect our privacy during this difficult time.

"The reason we're going is simple. We believe students and early career folks are getting a lot of advice, but not always a lot of structure. They’re told to find your passion, build your network, and stand out.”

Cool. Great. Super clear. No notes.

Except most people hear that and think, “Fantastic. Should I start by crying in a Target parking lot or what?”

That’s the gap we’re trying to fill.

The Business of You is the philosophy. Blue is where the work happens.

Together, we give people a practical, less-panic-inducing way to build self-awareness, tell their story, grow their skills, ask better questions, and make real connections.

Because yes, networking matters. But so does knowing what to say.

And why you’re saying it. And who you’re becoming while you’re saying it.

So, if you happen to see us on TV, do not panic. We have not been taken hostage by the local media. We are simply attempting to explain why young people need more than vague career advice and why learning to lead your life should feel practical, human, and maybe even a little fun.

Wish us luck.

And if we blink too much, just assume it’s because the studio lights are bright and personal growth is vulnerable.
